Overview:

Mullins Company is a subcontractor company with 60-100 employees based in Kingsport, TN. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Insulation Sales & Estimator covering the following counties in Tennessee: Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Jefferson, Knox, Sevier, and Union.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $40,000 per year plus 2.5% commission on gross sales, providing an opportunity for additional earnings based on performance. We have labor capacity to execute >$20M in sales.
  • Company Vehicle: A new pickup truck will be provided for business-related travel.

Responsibilities:

As an Outside Salesperson and Estimator, your primary responsibility will be to drive sales and increase market share by promoting and selling various types of insulation products to residential and commercial builders, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders. Your role will require a comprehensive understanding of different insulation materials, local building codes, and project management.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify potential customers, generate leads, and develop a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Promote and sell insulation products, including spray foam, fiberglass, and mineral wool insulation, to builders, general contractors, architects, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to expand the customer base and secure repeat business.

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of various insulation materials, their applications, benefits, and limitations.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, building codes, and regulations related to insulation.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to customers based on their specific project requirements.
  • Conduct field measurements of residential and commercial buildings to accurately estimate insulation quantities and provide cost estimates to customers.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate with builders, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as the installation crew and operations, to ensure smooth project handover and delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and reporting of sales activities and project progress.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Conduct regular job site walk-throughs to assess progress, address any concerns, and provide technical support to the installation crews.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the insulation industry or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various insulation materials, including spray foam, fiberglass, and mineral wool insulation.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations pertaining to insulation.
  • Proficiency in field measuring residential and commercial buildings to accurately estimate insulation quantities.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Willingness to regularly visit job sites and communicate with installation crews.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
